Time in the saddle without a full purchase. Full and partial leases available.
This beautiful gelding is looking for someone to lease him. Sparky is a twelve-year-old registered AQHA gelding (registered as Sparkling Silverchex). He's very broke, goes in the bridle, rides English and Western, and has tons of trail miles on him. (Pictures are from when he was four, on the beach, and five, working as a rodeo judge's horse. We haven't had the chance to get updated photos yet.)
He does all the things — baths, hauling, clipping, loading, you name it — with great, smooth gaits. He's about 15.1–15.2 hands, deep-bodied and thick-built. He knows all the reining maneuvers, circles nicely, stops well, and likes working cattle. Definitely a "push" horse. He's also recently worked with a dressage trainer and done a couple of dressage clinics, where he did lovely.
He's logged plenty of solo trail miles, including getting his rider out of a few sketchy situations. A good boy and a true all-around horse, or he could be pointed in a specific direction if that's what you're looking for.
Please reach out if you're interested in leasing Sparky. We'd love to see him out competing in OHSET.
Ask about SparkyKeeper is a truly solid, dependable all-around horse who has seen a little bit of everything and is the kind of horse you can trust to take care of you.
She's been a rodeo queen horse, a 3-foot jumper, a reserve state championship OHSET drill horse, and has experience with cows, team penning, sorting, bi-rangle, flags, and speed events. She's also a beautiful mover with lovely English movement.
She's 14.2 hands but very stocky, with a smooth trot and canter that make her an incredibly fun ride. She's very forward and loves to move. Her least favorite gear is a jog! She's quite quick for speed events and responds well to a half-halt and voice commands.
Keeper has good stops, spins, leg yields, and haunch turns, along with that smooth trot and canter, and she's got experience roping off of her and working cows. She's comfortable alone or in a group, has excellent ground manners, stands tied, bathes, clips, ground ties, and doesn't panic or get easily overwhelmed.
She prefers a hackamore and soft hands, and is happiest with a confident, thoughtful rider who understands how to channel a forward horse.
Keeper is safe and trustworthy, but she does need an intermediate rider — she'll continuously try to accelerate because she genuinely enjoys going! She's not a deadhead and likes having a job, so she'd be a great fit for someone looking for a fun, forward, versatile horse rather than a quiet push-button lesson horse.
She's been used for drill, speed events, cows, sorting, team penning, bi-rangle, flags, jumping, and general all-around riding, the type of mare you can take in a lot of different directions. Keeper is truly a solid all-around horse with a big heart, tons of experience, and a lot of fun left to give.
